Nelson Sobral: What Can I Do Press Release

1

TORONTO, CANADA — October 9, 2026 — Toronto singer, songwriter and guitarist channels soul, blues and rock'n'roll into a raw portrait of a relationship falling silent. Out now on all streaming platforms.

Nelson Sobral makes his Crew Entertainment debut with "What Can I Do," a soulful, slow burning single about two people who still share a home but no longer share a language. The track is out now on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music and all major streaming platforms.

"What Can I Do" lives in the quiet space after the argument ends and nothing gets fixed. Sobral sets the scene in a few plain lines: a promise to talk it through, a partner closed off, and a couple sleeping in different beds. The pre-chorus lands the song's most honest admission, "You don't talk enough and I talk too much," a line anyone who has watched a relationship stall will recognise instantly.

By the second verse the problems are piling up faster than the promises. "You're just like the rest, you're my favourite regret," Sobral sings, before conceding that the cracks can't be covered over forever. The chorus never pretends to have the answer. It simply asks the question again and again, carried by a man who keeps trying anyway.

Musically, the song showcases everything that has made Sobral a standout live artist. His vocal leans into the deep soul phrasing of Otis Redding, his guitar playing serves the song first, and when the solo arrives it opens the track up before a stripped back breakdown pulls everything into the final chorus.
